Median household income is $50,512, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $806/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Diego about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
