Best apartments in Cahokia Heights under ?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $56,900, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from LA about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Sunset) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in marketing here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is decent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely improving and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Denver about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..
