Pros and cons of Cairo after 11 years

Random thought, I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $728 for rent here. With a population of 10,067, Cairo is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Cairo sits at 274.3 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
