I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 2 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
