Calera in the winter -how bad?

So, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $214,200, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 17,188, Calera is a small town. Household incomes average around $82,441 in Calera. Median household income is $82,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
