So, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $214,200, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 17,188, Calera is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
