Commute times in Calera -how bad?

First post here. With a population of 17,188, Calera is a small town. The median home value here is around $214,200, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $82,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 4.7%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Highland) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
