What to expect moving to Calera?

So, With a population of 17,188, Calera is a small town. Median household income is $82,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $214,200, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Minneapolis it's solid.

I work in tech here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.
