Been meaning to ask this. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Crime rate is something to consider -Calexico sits at 233.1 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
