Healthcare options in Calexico?

Hi all, Military spouse here. With a population of 38,476, Calexico is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Highland for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- The public transit scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..
