Starting a business in Calexico?

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Rent is about $1,049/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $50,021 in Calexico. The median home value here is around $281,700, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $281,700 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,049 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
