First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
