Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Camano sits at 210.1 per 100K. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Phoenix it's improving.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Cedar Grove area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 24, moved here 3 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in East and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The public transit situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for families. tough vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Springfield for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The job market scene is average
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The safety scene is improving
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
