Raising a family in Camarillo -thoughts?

Hello, We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $2,650 for rent here. The median home value here is around $766,100, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
