First post here. Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $109,390 in Camarillo. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Eastside area are solid. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
