Affordable areas near Cambridge?

Hey, The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $126,469, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Cambridge sits at 278.6 per 100K. Household incomes average around $126,469 in Cambridge. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
- Homelessness issues downtown
Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
