Camden in the winter -how bad?

Poverty rate is 25.6%, which is higher than I expected. Should I be concerned? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Midtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much established but now it's pretty good.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Meadowbrook area are decent. Kids love it here.

I've lived in West for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 10 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Bugs and humidity in summer. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for work and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The dating scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
