Is Cameron good for remote workers?

First post here. We have two kids and Homes are going for about $178,300 on average. Household incomes average around $56,090 in Cameron. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.
