Cameron housing prices -when will it stop?

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $942/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I work in real estate here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
