Hey everyone, I'm originally from Pittsburgh and The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 3 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.
