Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 10,724 people. Poverty rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $510,100, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,424/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The school system is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Hope this helps!.

I've lived in North for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
