Top 5 things I love about Campton Hills

Hello, We have two kids and Rent is about $1,424/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Median household income is $192,727, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 10,724 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Denver about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 42, moved here 2 years ago from Miami. I've lived in West and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Can feel isolated
3. The safety situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for retirees. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
