Hey everyone, It's a a small town city with about 18,103 people. The median home value here is around $479,500, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $100,268, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,442/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Lakewood area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Greenfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The public transit is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is excellent in most areas.
