Anyone else feel this way? With a population of 5,459, Candlewick Lake is a small town. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 12.0%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'm a electrician and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely average and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (West) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in government here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is decent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is decent in most areas.
