Top 5 things I love about Canton

With a population of 10,863, Canton is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Chicago about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
