OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $62,438 in Canton. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I work in retail here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is pretty good. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
