Is Canton good for remote workers?

So, Just moved here 6 months ago and It's a a small town city with about 7,222 people. You can expect to pay around $775 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? Any help is appreciated. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Italian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Bought a house here in 2016 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 57, moved here 14 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Fairview and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cultural scene situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Highland for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
