Relocating to Canutillo, TX -pros and cons?

Hey folks, I'm single, late 30s, and It's a a small town city with about 6,422 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Canutillo? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I work in education here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is pretty good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2017 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to LA it's underrated.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Downtown for 7 years. Moved from Tampa for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Urban sprawl is real. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
