Canyon is underrated, change my mind

Curious what people think. We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 15,398 people. You can expect to pay around $975 for rent here. Homes are going for about $218,300 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Not enough green space
The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The traffic is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Miami about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
