Hi all, Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Canyon sits at 85.8 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $975 for rent here. Median household income is $68,233, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'm a nurse and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The public transit scene is solid
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 41, moved here 13 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Greenfield and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The nightlife situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
