I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $17,817 in Ca--o Martin Pe--a comunidad. It's a a small town city with about 11,508 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Appreciate any input. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely tough and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Uptown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been in Springfield for 14 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Dating scene is rough. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
