Hey everyone, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $118,800 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots?

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great sushi places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The food scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The school system is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
