Alright, Just moved here 1 months ago and Household incomes average around $54,271 in Caribou. With a population of 7,427, Caribou is a small town. Homes are going for about $120,300 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much stable but now it's decent.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Tampa about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
