Longtime lurker here, I'm a 22-year-old graphic designer and Rent is about $896/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Carlisle? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Denver it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Minneapolis about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
