Moving to Carlsbad with kids -good idea?

Random thought, Median household income is $139,326, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.
