Affordable areas near Carlsbad?

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $78,277 in Carlsbad. Rent is about $1,206/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? TIA! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
