Considering Carlsbad vs Seattle -help me decide

Alright, I'm originally from Nashville and Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,206/month for a decent place. With a population of 31,813, Carlsbad is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $187,900 on average. Household incomes average around $78,277 in Carlsbad. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 15 years. Moved from New York for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**

The market right now is average. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**

engineering is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**

Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Chain restaurants dominate. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
