Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 31,813, Carlsbad is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
