Thinking about relocating to Carlsbad from Pittsburgh

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 31,813, Carlsbad is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,206/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in East area are underrated. Kids love it here.
