Is Carmel a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Carmel because of being near family. Weather is moderate — about 55F average.

Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

I've lived in Downtown for 4 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

If you can afford it, Riverside is the best place to live. Period.

Check out the Downtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
