Biggest downsides of living in Carmichael?

OK so I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $541,500, which is pretty steep. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
