Housing in Carney compared to Houston

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,786 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $84,619, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,786/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
