Is Carol Stream getting better or worse?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,465/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
