So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $298,700, which seems about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What are your go-to spots? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a HR manager, 33, moved here 5 years ago from Denver. I've lived in East and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Affordable housing options
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The nightlife situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for families. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
