Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $153,300 on average. You can expect to pay around $677 for rent here. Rent is about $677/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Worth the trade-offs? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
