OK so Homes are going for about $225,200 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I work in consulting here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is underrated. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
