Biggest downsides of living in Carpentersville?

I'm a college student here and With a population of 37,544, Carpentersville is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $225,200, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.
