Best and worst neighborhoods in Carrboro

I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $507,100 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I'm a writer and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The healthcare is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

I've lived in Eastside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
