Best neighborhoods to rent in Carrollton?

Hey, I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $51,553, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $283,100 on average. Poverty rate is 22.3%, which is higher than I expected. Rent is about $1,067/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $283,100, which seems about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Chain restaurants dominate
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited entertainment options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely hit or miss and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (South) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
