Anyone else feel this way? The median home value here is around $283,100, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Carrollton sits at 434.5 per 100K. Rent is about $1,067/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Atlanta about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is average.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 10 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
