Career opportunities in Carrollton, TX

Random thought, I'm a 33-year-old police officer and It's a a mid-size city city with about 133K people. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The dating scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cost of living is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Houston it's surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 11 years. Moved from Phoenix for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Road conditions need improvement. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
